About Historical Parks
Many significant historical sites have been preserved by the National Park Service. These include Independance Hall in Philidelphia where the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1788, the site where the transcontinental railroad was connected in northern Utah and battlegrounds between Russians and Indians in Alaska. Recently, missle silos in South Dakota, which were prepared in the event of nuclear war during the Cold War, became a new member of this group.
