About Minnesota

Minnesota comprises 87,014 square miles on the Canadian border at the end of Lake Superior. Known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes," it enjoys a moist climate that provides for a scenery of forests, lakes and rivers. The terrain is generally flat, the lowest point being 602 feet in elevation at Lake Superior, and the highest at just 2,301 feet at Eagle Mountain.

Minnesota was admitted to the union on May 11, 1858, being the 32nd state. The capitol is at St. Paul.
